Color Crazed: Olive & Blackberry

It’s hard to believe summer is on it’s way out already, so let’s take the time to fit in some fruity drinks, floral wreaths and fresh accents – the essentials for a summer wedding.

Color Crazed: Summer Fruit

With the Fourth of July just recently passing, summer season is officially in full swing. There’s nothing that makes me think of summer more than fresh fruit. So, of course, this photo of lemons, grapefruit and blood oranges on Note to Self immediately drew me in.

Color Crazed: Aqua, French Blue & Gold

Ever since my first viewing of Sophia Coppoloa’s Marie Antoinette, I’ve associate pale blue and gold with full-out luxury. Soft yet elegant, cheery yet powerful, this color palette will make you feel truly royal on your big day. Not to mention, it’s the perfect setup for one of those “Let Them Eat Cake” signs.

Color Crazed: Nautical Navy, Yellow & Tiffany Blue

In another life, I’d have loved to be the kind of person who owns a sailboat and knows how to operate it. Growing up in the middle of Illinois my whole life made that slightly difficult, but the great thing about a wedding theme is that it gives you the chance to create a world for yourself and your fiance that incorporates a little fantasy. For those of us living vicariously through the fancy families on the coast, here’s an inspiration board full of ways to bring ocean life to any part of the country.

Color Crazed : Spring Silver & White

Traditionally, silver and white are hues reserved for a winter wedding. Personally, I find this a shame because the combo creates such an opportunity for a light and airy atmosphere. You can see below that none of the images feel cold or icy, but instead refreshing and bright.

Sorry, winter, we’re claiming silver and white for spring.

Color Crazed : Pistachio Glam

With all the hype around The Great Gatsby leading to inspired shoots with art deco design and black/gold/silver jazzy palettes, I fell pleasantly in love with leading lady Carey Mulligan’s recent Vogue cover. The gorgeous green hue of her dress was so unexpected and so fantastically chic. carey-mulligan-cover-8_15045155816

Putting this lime green/pistachio/chartreuse color in the middle of a glam setting felt like such a fun, summery idea. Lots of glass and lots of sparkle around make for the perfect compliment.

Color Crazed : Oxblood and Succulent

How gorgeous is this photo on the left by Arnim Schultz? It’s just a set of doors, but I guess when those doors are in Barcelona, they become a piece of art.

The lines are, of course, amazing, but I think the real standout here is the color combo. I love the dark red and purplish-blue hues paired with such a bright sea foam green. I was immediately reminded of the beautiful natural tones of various succulents and thought the idea of pairing them with a rich oxblood felt very luxe and refreshing.
